autumn scene
across
the water

by
Bob MacKenzie

from the beach
three black mast shapes
pierce the blazing
setting sun

chromatic
water flows still
here to there from
these dark holes

from the beach
they ask, "to where;
what dark corners,
what new worlds?"

temporal
darkness growing
pierced by fading
distant lamps:

from the beach
pinpoints dancing
recall the fall
setting sun.
