Dawn a Rose
by
Bob MacKenzie

for Donna

And I was One who rose
To meet Another there
Who lightly rose as Dawn
Across my mind's East Sky;

Like light I rose to walk
The garden rows of clouds
Alight with flaring roses,
Rose rendezvous for two;

Rose to walk a shining
Garden full of roses
In regimental rows
to honour Dawn a rose -

As you: the Sun arose.
