untitled poem
by
Bob MacKenzie
It seems so long ago; now
I've walked this white line,
It seems my whole life,
Balancing on the line.
(two dimension puppet show
but for what audience?)
There must have been a time,
Young and eager past time,
I walked both sides freely
And left the painted line
A trolley for white canes
Of older men gone blind.
But that was long ago,
Before I saw the line
As success, as a train
Following the blinding
White glare of the old line
I have joined.
