Summer Somewhere
by
Bob MacKenzie

I've dreamed of a summer somewhere
Where the sun is always high,
Shining through the clear air
Above both you and I.

I seek all starlight,
I seek the sun -
Oh summer somewhere,
You are the one.

As you walk out in the meadow,
Go to brook and go to sea,
Sailing as the birds go
Sailing, sailing free.

And I watch you in the forest,
Best of woman, best of light,
Flower that gives no rest
Shining in the night.

Oh summer somewhere,
Oh where are you -
Sing me your lovesong,
None less will do.

I've dreamed of a summer somewhere
Where the sun is always high,
Shining through the clear air
Around both you and I.
